Buckley Biopic "Mystery White Boy" Shuffles Crew

While Daniel Algrant's "Greetings From Tim Buckley" starring Penn Badgley premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival recently, the other--officially sanctioned--Jeff Buckley biopic called "Mystery White Boy" hasn't gone into production yet.

Thanks to Showbiz 411 (via The Playlist) we now know one possible reason why - the reshuffling of behind the scenes folks.

Reeve Carney who starred in the famously troubled stage production "Spider-Man:Turn Off The Dark" was set to play the lead role with Jake Scott (Welcome to the Rileys, son of Ridley Scott)  was set to direct. Now "West Of Memphis" helmer Amy Berg has taken over directorial duties while Carney looks seems to have moved on.

Ryan Jaffe wrote the script adapting author David Browne's book "Dream Brother". The story chronicles Buckley's life story as he emerged on the club scene in New York City in the early 1990s and recorded his only studio album in 1994. After two years of touring, Buckley had begun work on his second album when he drowned in a boating accident in 1997 at the age of thirty. Since his death, his work has gone on to achieve success.

The project also has complete access to his catalog of music.

Gemma Arterton, Olivia Thirlby, Harry Treadaway and Patricia Arquette were previously linked to roles in the pic---not sure if that is still the case. Berg also recently signed on to direct the crime drama "Every Secret Thing" with Elizabeth Banks and Diane Lane
