It's 2 Times The Action For Lefevre

Rachelle Lefevre is joining the action thrillers White House Down and Homefront says The Hollywood Reporter.


For Down James Vanderbilt wrote the script that sees a paramilitary takeover of The White House. Channing Tatum will star as a single father and Secret Service agent.

Lefevre will play the ex-wife of Tatum.

Maggie Gyllenhaal would play a fellow Secret Service agent. Jamie Foxx is set to play the president of the United States in the film. James Woods is in talks to play the head of the Secret Service. Joey King will play Tatum's young daughter. Jason Clarke will play Stenz, the leader of the mercenaries. Lance Reddick will play Colonel Janowitz, who serves as the handle for the Speaker of the House (Richard Jenkins) who trails the Vice President (Michael Murphy) in America's presidential line of succession. Garcelle Beauvais is the First Lady.

Sony Pictures paid $3 million for the script, the highest amount for a spec script sale so far this year.

Roland Emmerich directs.

Emmerich, Vanderbilt, Harald Kloser, Bradley Fischer and Laeta Kalogridis will produce.

Production is underway in Montreal.

Sony has moved up the thriller from its November 1, 2013 release date to June 28, 2013.

Meanwhile in director Gary Fleder's Homefront James Franco stars as a meth kingpin named Gator who runs the small town to which a family, led by an ex-DEA agent (Jason Statham), moves in the hope of a quiet life.

Lefevre will be playing school psychologist "who tries to warn the family about the dangers of living there."

Kate Bosworth will play the meth-addicted sister of Franco. Frank Grillo (Warrior) in talks to costar as a one of Franco’s henchmen,Winona Ryder will play a biker who teams with 'Gator'. Izabela Vidovic joins the pic as Statham's daughter.

Sylvester Stallone wrote the script adaptation of author Chuck Logan's novel

Logan Kevin King Templeton and Rene Besson will produce the pic.

Production begins today in New Orleans.
