The original film followed a blue collar high school graduate (Matt Dillon) who gets a job at a rich beach club where the owner becomes his mentor. He soon learns that this high lifestyle isn't at all what he expected.
Nzingha Stewart ("For Colored Girls") is writing the script for the new version.
Brett Ratner, Michael Phillips and Juliana Maio will produce the pic.
