Waltz Might Play "Gorby" For Reykjavik

Christoph Waltz  is in talks to star in the historical indie drama "Reykjavik" says THR.


The story is based on the 1986 Reykjavík Summit between President Ronald Reagan (Michael Douglas) and Russian President n Mikhail Gorbachev (Walttz) which led to the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty between the two super powers.

Kevin Hood wrote the script.

Ridley Scott was previously linked to helm the pic now though Mike Newell is now in talks to direct. Scott remains on board as producer along with David W. Zucker, Mark Sennet and Stewart Mackinnon.

Production kicks off in March in Germany.
