WB Dumps Jersey Boys Film

Warner Bros. has put Jon Favreau's film version of the Award-winning Broadway musical "Jersey Boys" into turnaround says Variety.

GK Films is now currently seeking a new home for the project which they're now reportedly shopping around to both Fox and Paramount to see if they want in.

When GK split with Sony Pictures and signed the Warners deal back in September, 'Jersey' came with them. Production was dur to begin in January, but that's out now.

Before this event, actors like John Magaro, Dominic Cooper, Vincent Piazza Paul Dano and James Badge Dale were all being eyfor lead roles.

The musical written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice chronicles the pop group Frankie Valli And The Four Seasons and their journey to fame. The group sold 175 million records worldwide before any of the members turned 30.

The show has pulled in over $1 billion in ticket sales worldwide, and this film will use much of the same music from the stage show.
