The recent chatter that Universal was trying to woo "The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum" director Paul Greengrass and star Matt Damon back to the action film franchise has been squashed
Greengrass tells Empire:
"I’ve absolutely no idea. I’m not being funny but, no, that’s just a figment of someone’s imagination."
The director seems like he is really done with the franchise:
"We might have a laugh about it, but a serious conversation? Not for a long time ... listen, I loved the Bourne movies. I loved making them but it’s like anything in life, you’ve got to move on and do different things."
A few weeks ago we heard that Anthony Peckham ("Sherlock Holmes," "Invictus") was hired to write the script for a sequel that would continue the story of the Aaron Cross character introduced in 2012's "The Bourne Legacy" and played by Jeremy Renner.
Ben Smith and Jeffrey M. Weiner. will produce the next film.
