Since Will Smith recently dropped out of playing the lead in the film adaptation of author Marcus Sakey's novel "Brilliance" the question is what will he do next?
Deadline
reports that one project the actor has under consideration
is the Ridley Scott-produced football drama.
Currently titled "Game Brain"--The story revolves around pro football players who suffer
concussions and the serious long term effects that have been
revealed over the past few years.
The topic has been making news of late with ex-NFL players coming forward to
talk about how they have damaged their health due to concussions.
Think Michael Mann's "The Insider" but for professional sports rather than the tobacco industry.
Peter Landesman is in talks to write
and direct the drama.
Giannina Facio will also produce.
Meanwhile, Legendary Pictures wanted Chris Hemsworth to replace Smith in "Brilliance"--but he can't do it thanks to his commitment to Joss Whedon's superhero team up sequel "The Avengers: Age of Ultron"
