Brandon Routh Comes To TV's Arrow As...?

Deadline reports that "Superman Returns" star Brandon Routh is poised to play another superhero from  DC Entertainment mythology-The Atom during the third season of The CW's popular Arrow TV series.

Routh will play Ray Palmer, a scientist, inventor and the new owner of Queen Consolidated. The deal spans fourteen episodes, with the character also serving as a love interest for fan favorite Felicity Smoak ().

In the comics, Palmer becomes The Atom, a character that can shrink down to subatomic size. Whether the show will follow through with that we'll have to wait and see. It's likely though since the character matches a recently leaked casting description.

I am super excited! I have always thought Routh got a raw deal with Superman--granted it's for the small screen but 14 eps is quite a big arc.

Routh joins other announced newcomers this season including Karl Yune, Peter Stormare, Devon Aoki and former recurring actor John Barrowman (Walter) who has been  promoted to series regular.

Rumors continue to swirl about potential appearances by Oded Fehr as Ra's al Ghul and The Vampire Diaries star Steven R. McQueen as the post-Robin Nightwing,

McQueen has been hinting that he could be playing the character by using his Twitter account to throw out little teases. He uploaded an image of himself on Instagram with star Stephen Amell, at a recent  LA Kings game with the the hashtags, "#arrow #nightwing #golakings".

if the talk is true it will likely be confirmed later this month at the San Diego Comic-Con.
