Deadline reports that Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana and Elle Fanning have joined the film adaptation of author Dennis Lehane's novel "Live by Night".
The Boston-set Prohibition-era story centers on Joe Coughlin (Ben Affleck), a
man who rebels against his cop father and becomes a career criminal. He
soon rises up the mob's ranks as the action moves to Florida and then
Cuba. The story also includes rumrunners, femme fatales, betrayals and
plenty of sin.
Miller will play the girlfriend of Joe's mobster
boss. Saldana is a woman he meets when he becomes involved in organized
crime in Tampa. Fanning plays a sheriff’s daughter and aspiring actress
who gets into trouble.
Some of the characters also appeared in another Lehane novel - "The Given Day".
Leonardo DiCaprio Rick Yorn and Jennifer Davisson Killoran will produce.
Affleck had originally planned to direct this pic a while back but put aside those plans to play Bruce Wayne in the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice".
He's expected to direct the movie immediately after DOJ wraps.
