The Risky Biz Blog reports that Jim Carrey is up for the lead in The Beaver, a comedy about a man and his puppet.



Kyle Killen wrote the praised script--It, ended up in the #1 spot on last year's Black List of the hottest un-produced screenplays in Hollywood.

Producers are aiming to shoot the pic this year and the project is currently out to directors.

Steve Carell was loosely attached to play the lead when Jay Roach was gonna call action--It is rumored that Jodie Foster might take to the big chair instead.

Carrey is umm...hands down the better pick for this one over that of Carell.
