Glee creator and "Eat Pray Love" helmer Ryan Murphy told MTV News that he's set to direct the film adaptation of Larry Kramer's semi-autobiographical play "The Normal Heart
Kramer adapted the script which focuses on the rise of the HIV/AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 80's.
Mark Ruffalo will star as the gay Jewish founder of a prominent HIV advocacy group who prefers loud and visible action over the quieter, less visible strategies advocated by his friends.
Murphy says it's a "beautiful script and we're going to shoot that in June of next year..."
Murphy is also said to be involved in the film version of stage musical "Wicked".
When asked if he'd be interested, Murphy replied that he'd "never presume to say yes' to such a question".
