Jake Gyllenhaal, James McAvoy, Chris Hemsworth, Taylor Kitsch, Chris Pine, Sam Worthington, Ryan Reynolds, Garrett Hedlund, Zac Efron, Tom Hardy, Channing Tatum and Shia Labeouf are all in contention for the lead opposite Denzel Washington in the spy thriller "Safe House"says Deadline and Heat Vision.
David Guggenheim wrote the script which follows a young intelligence agent at a CIA-run safe house who must help a criminal being kept there and avoid being killed by villains who want him dead.
Daniel Espinoza ("Snabba Cash") directs the project and will help Guggenheim with a re-write of the script.
Efron's the only one on that list with no action pic cred--while Reynolds is “emerging as the frontrunner"
Scott Stuber produces the pic and shooting is scheduled to kick off next year in possibly South Africa and Argentina.
