Friends Of Oskar

Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock are “circling" a post-9/11 drama says Variety.

Based on Jonathan Safran Foer's book Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close the story follows multi-talented nine-year-old Oskar Schell whose father died in the 9/11 attacks. Given a mysterious key by his father before he died, Oskar now wanders New York City in search of the lock it will open.

Eric Roth ("The Curious Case of Benjamin Button") is adapting the script that Stephen Daldry ("The Hours," "The Reader") will direct.

Scott Rudin will produce
