Jeffrey Dean Morgan Seeking "Solace"

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has joined the long gestating supernatural thriller "Solace" says THR.

Colin Farrell would play an FBI detective who seeks the help of a retired and reclusive doctor (Anthony Hopkins) to try and solve a series of grisly murders. The doctor was a genius at solving murders until his daughter died tragically. Desperate, the detective presses the doctor to come out of retirement for one more case.

Morgan is playing a veteran FBI agent heading the investigation.

Written by Sean Bailey and Ted Griffin with revisions by James Vanderbilt and Peter Morgan-- with Afonso Poyart ("Two Rabbits") attached to direct.

Beau Flynn, Tripp Vinson, and Thomas Augsberger are producing the project

The idea originated at New Line Cinema where at one point it was to be turned into a sequel to David Fincher's "Se7en".

Production is due to start May 20th in Detroit.
