Blakeson Eyes The Big Chair For "The 5th Wave"

Filmmaker J Blakeson ("The Disappearance Of Alice Creed") is in talks to direct the sci-fi feature "The 5th Wave" says Variety.

Based on author Rick Yancey's novel series, the story follows a girl searching for her brother after an alien invasion. The studio hopes the pic will serve as a potential franchise launcher.

Susannah Grant is writing the adapted script.

Tobey Maguire, Graham King, Tim Headington, Denis O’Sullivan and Matt Plouffe are producing.
