Jamie Blackley ("Snow White And The Huntsman") will play the male lead in R.J. Cutler's adaptation of author Gayle Forman's young adult novel "If I Stay" says Deadline.
The story follows a teen Mia (played by Chloe Grace Moretz) who is left in a coma after a car accident that destroys her family. While in hospital, she has an out-of-body experience and is faced with choosing between living a difficult life or giving up altogether.
Blackley will play Mia's boyfriend, Adam, an up and coming indie-rock star
World War Z's Mireille Enos will play the mother of Mia.
R.J. Cutler is calling action from an adapted script written by Shauna Cross.
Catherine Hardwicke was previously attached to direct.
Denise Dinovi and Alison Greenspan of Dinovi Pictures will produce the movie.
Production starts in October
