Edgerton Directs Himself In "Weirdo".

Screen Daily reports that Joel Edgerton ("Warrior," "The Great Gatsby") is set to make his directorial debut on "Weirdo". It's a very "contained film" with just six locations and six characters.

Edgerton adds: "It’s about a guy who is forced to face the past when it comes back in the form of an old school friend. But he continually lies about it (the past) and it haunts him in a bad bad way.”

Edgerton says that he'll play a supporting role in the film. They're currently seeking financing for the film at the Toronto International Film Festival, though much of that will be subject to casting.

Rebecca Yeldham will produce the movie.

Production will take place in California next year
