The Kojak Movie: Will Ang Lee Direct?

Late last year rumors emerged that Vin Diesel was going to star in and produce Kojak a big screen version of the TV series from the 70's starring Telly Savalas.

Former James Bond film scribes Neal Purvis & Robert Wade have been hired to pen the script that would see Diesel play the iconic bald cop who has a penchant for lollipops. The original show ran from 1973-78. A poor television redo was launched in 2005 with Ving Rhames in the title role.

Samantha Vincent will also produce the film which will have a contemporary setting.

A fan on Diesel's Facebook page asked him which director he wanted to work with. Diesel replied and essentially confirmed not only his involvement in the film but who may be calling the shots:

"Kojak... New York.... Ang Lee"

This is the first time Lee's name has been mentioned here, and it certainly isn't a confirmation in any way.  If it is true he is an interesting choice.
