Paramount Pictures has announced an official release date of December 25th 2015 for Mission: Impossible 5. That puts it one week after the opening of "Star Wars: Episode VII" on December
18th.
Christopher McQuarrie ("Jack Reacher") is now confirmed to direct using a script by "Iron Man 3" scripter Drew Pearce
Tom Cruise will star again as special operative Ethan Hunt in the sequel--which reunites Cruise with his "Reacher" writer/director
No word on what the story entails or which other characters will return.
Production is slated to begin in February The sequel is currently scouting locations out of its London production office. McQuarrie has begun tweeting about pre-production in London with the tag #MI5Diary
The last film--2011's "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" raked in $700 million worldwide.
McQuarrie performed an uncredited re-write on the 'Ghost Protocol' script.
