Cruise And Liman Want Jack To Come Back To "El Presidente"

THR reports that Tom Cruise is making another attempt to woo his "A Few Good Men" co-star Jack Nicholson to appear with him in the long gestating action comedy "El Presidente".

Back in 2010 the duo were poised to do the flick but things did not work out. Two years later, Jay Roach (Meet the Parents) was set to direct, and Nicholson was replaced by Robert Downey Jr. Now comes word that Roach is out and Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) is now due to call the shots.

Since RDJ has exited too Cruise and Liman have decided to try and coax Jack to return. The trade says that the two men went to Nicholson's home to discuss "El Presidente." Cruise apparently told the actor that he won't do the movie without him

"Parks and Recreation" producer and writer Dan Goor penned the original script that was polished by Jesse Armstrong and The Good German’s Paul Attanasio,

The story follows an overzealous Secret Service (Cruise) agent whose work-life boundary issues get him reassigned to the inglorious task of guarding America's worst former president (Nicholson), a bumbling sleaze. The job becomes exciting when a threat is made on the ex-president's life and they must go on the run.
