"Blue Caprice" actor Isaiah Washington will star in and executive produce the indie drama "Game Time Decision" says Deadline.
Former NFL wide receiver turned industry member Matthew A. Cherry ("The Last Fall") wrote and will direct the picture which deals with concussion-related injuries in professional football players, specifically Chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
Washington will play a retired professional football player suffering from a degenerative brain disease who attempts to reconnect with his estranged son to warn him about returning to play a game too soon after sustaining a concussion.
Production aims to begin next spring.
The announcement comes after last week's news that Ridley Scott is developing an as yet Untitled Football Concussions Project of his own and is currently interviewing writers.
