Despite the fact that the star of The CW's popular Arrow TV series Stephen Amell has expressed his willingness to take his version of Green Arrow to the big screen for the eventual "Justice League" movie--It looks as though the DC Cinematic Universe--that began with this year's "Man of Steel"-- is not intended to merge with the TV heroes into a larger cohesive whole.
During a chat with Fandango, the shows executive producer Greg Berlanti told them that he has not had any discussion with the Warner Bros./DC Entertainment suits about bringing the universes together:
"We haven't had any of those conversations other than to say, what characters are we allowed to use this year and advocate or request certain ones that are of interest to us. And every now and then, they'll say, 'You can't have that guy.' They don't say why, and we figure out why later on."
I enjoy what Amell does on a weekly basis and would welcome his incarnation in the JL team up film. We already know The Flash (Grant Gustin) will show up on Arrow for a few eps before getting his own show in 2014 It would certainly make sense practically anyway if we were to see them work with Henry Cavill's Superman/Clark Kent and Ben Affleck''s Bruce Wayne/Batman. I hope that someone at WB allows the film and TV worlds to coexist at some point. If the Marvel Cinematic Universe can intersect with TV's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." why can't DC do it too?
