The Hollywood Reporter says that Rupert Sanders ("Snow White And The Huntsman") is attached to direct a biopic about Napoleon Bonaparte.
Written by Jeremy Doner (The
Killing), the film is described as a Scarface-style look at the French
conqueror.
Doner did lots of research, and the suits was so high on this script when it
was delivered that the studio viewed it as a possible pairing for Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese.
With Scorsese working to deliver the final cut of “The Wolf of Wall Street,” the
studio began widening the net for other high-profile directors to take the helm
before settling on Sanders.
Gianni Nunnari and Niija Kuykendall will produce the film.
