Sofia Black-d'Elia will star in the horror thriller "Viral" formerly titled “Peste” says Deadline.
The script written by Barbara Marshall that now includes rewrites by Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity 3), follows Emma Drakeford (Black-D'Elia) who is struggling after a recent family tragedy--As she begins a video documentary about her life for a school project. the county that she lives in succumbs to the spread of a parasitic virus, and the citizens try to survive a wide spread quarantine.
Warm Bodies' Analeigh Tipton also stars.
The script was written as the first part of a planned trilogy.
“Catfish” helmers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman will call action here. The duo also helmed Paranormal Activity 3 and Paranormal Activity 4
Jason Blum Matt Kaplan and Sherryl Clark will produce the pic.
Stuart Ford Matt Jackson and Charles Layton are exec producing.
