Trio Set To Look In The "Idol's Eye"

We learned last week from The Playlist that Robert Pattinson is set to star in "Carlos" and "Summer Hours" filmmaker Olivier Assayas's U.S.film debut--the crime thriller "Idol's Eye" (formerly titled "Hubris").

Inspired by Hillel Levin's April, 2007 article, the film follows a crew of thieves who rob a pawn shop and discover it is a front for the most brutal crime boss in Chicago history, Tony Accardo.

Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz is in negotiations to join the film. Robert De Niro signed on yesterday.

Charles Gillibert, Scott Stuber, Alexandra Milchan, and Scott Lambert are producing.

Production will begin filming in October in Chicago and Toronto.
