The story follows a drifter (Ethan Hawke) with nothing to lose who seeks revenge on the thugs who killed his best friend.
Farmiga plays a young woman who runs the town's hotel with her older sister (Gillan) and helps him in his quest for vengeance.
John Travolta also stars in the film.
Ti West will direct the project from his own script.
Jason Blum, Jacob Jaffke and Peter Phok are set to produce the film.
Production begins in late June.
