Formerly known as "Crosstown Traffic," Paul Greengrass had previously planned to direct Mackie in the movie before the project fell apart in 2010 following objections from Hendrix's estate.Those concerns appear to have been addressed.
Ol Parker is taking over the film directing from his own screenplay which chronicles the last nine days of Hendrix's life.
Parker's wife, Thandie Newton will co-star while Noomi Rapace is being eyed to play Swedish actress and Hendrix's former girlfriend Kathy Etchingham
No production schedule was given.
