Sony Pictures has won the film rights to Shane Kuhn's dark comedic novel "The Intern's Handbook" with plans to turn the the adaptation into a starring vehicle for Neighbors actor Dave Franco says Heat Vision.
The story deals with HR Inc., an intern placement agency that is actually a front for a network of assassins whose targets are high-profile corporate executives. Their best agent is John Lago (Franco) who is going a stint as a temp in a Manhattan law firm. Lago meets his toughest adversary yet: a female FBI agent assigned to take down the same target.
Oren Uziel ("22 Jump Street") is witting the adapted script.
Neal Moritz, Ori Marmur, Brad Mendelsohn and David Alpert will produce.
Sony sees this as a potential franchise launcher.
