Variety reports that George Nolfi ("The Adjustment Bureau") is set to call action on the Bruce Lee biopic Birth of the Dragon.
The story charts the real-life no-rules fight in San Francisco's Triad-controlled Chinatown in 1965 between Lee and China’s most famous kung fu master Wong Jack Man
That event will be used as a starting point for a bigger scale action movie
with the pair battling Chinatown gangsters.
"Nixon" and "Ali" scribes Stephen J. Rivele and
Christopher Wilkinson wrote the script. The pair will also produce the film with Bill Block, Janice Williams and Michael London.
Production hopes to begin next spring.
