Ben Schwartz is set to join the biopic "To Reach the Clouds" aka To Walk the Clouds says The Wrap.
The film chronicles the life of French high-wire walker Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), whose stunts were chronicled in 2008's acclaimed documentary "Man on Wire".
Based on Petit’s own memoir, the story centers around Petit's feat of walking across a wire between New York City's World Trade Center in 1974 - a stunt he spent six years planning and preparing for. Because he'd executed his stunt without official permission, he was arrested as soon as he stepped off the wire. All charges against him were ultimately dropped. In his time, Petit also performed high wire walks between the towers of Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, and the north pylons of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Schwartz will play Albert, one of Petit's detractors who was skeptical of the goal to walk on a tightrope between the twin towers.
Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale, Charlotte LeBon and Steve Valentine co-star.
Director Robert Zemeckis wanted to call action after seeing Alfonso Cuaron's Oscar-nominated "Gravity". Zemeckis co-wrote the adapted screenplay with Christopher Browne.
Tom Rothman will produce the film.
The film will be a photo-realistic 3D. Production is set for this summer to meet its release on October 2, 2015.
