Pitching Order

Steven Soderbergh may reunite with his "Ocean's Eleven" (and its sequels) costar Brad Pitt

Soderbergh is in talks to replace David Frankel as director of he film adaptation of the Michael Lewis book "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game" reports Variety.

The book focuses on Billy Beane , the general manager of Baseball's Oakland Athletics who used a sophisticated computer analysis system to piece together a team that regularly contended for the World Series despite a payroll dramatically lower than the team's big-market rivals.

Pitt has been attached to the project for a year. Steven Zaillian, whose credits include "American Gangster"will write the adaptation. Original scripter Stan Chervin left the project cause unknown.

Soderbergh is looking to make Moneyball his next directing gig putting his Cleopatra-musical "Cleo" on hold for a year after Hugh Jackman dropped out of the project .
