Derrickson Says "Beware the Night"

Scott Derrickson (The truly forgettable remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still," "The Exorcism of Emily Rose") will call action on the supernatural police thriller "Beware the Night" says The Wrap.

Set in a paranormal world, the story follows a New York police officer investigating real life demon possessions, exorcisms and werewolves after dark.

Derrickson will also re-write the script.

Mark Wahlberg was previously offered the lead role but turned it down.  It seems that producer Jerry Bruckheimer is involved somehow as well

Derrickson remains attached to helm the thriller "Two Eyes Staring" with Charlize Theron.
