Based on the book by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent, which chronicled Burpo's (Greg Kinnear) son's near-death experience and subsequent claim that he visited heaven. His family and the members of his small town do not believe him until his stories identify people who have passed away.
Kelly Reilly (Flight) will play Kinnear's wife
Christopher Parker is adapting the book into a script from which "Secretariat" director Randall Wallace will call the shots.
Joe Roth and T.D. Jakes will produce the pic.
Production is currently underway in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Heaven Is for Real is scheduled for release for Easter 2014.
