The story will deal with the murder of David Kammerer (Michael C. Hall) by Lucien Carr (Dane Dehaan), a Columbia University student who had been pursued sexually by Kammerer and stabbed him to death one night while fending him off.
Carr, whose friends at Columbia included Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston), poet Allen Ginsberg (Daniel Radcliffe) and William S. Burroughs (Ben Foster), dumped Kammerer's body in the Hudson River and spent a couple days deciding whether or not to confess to the murder.
Elizabeth Olsen will play Edie Parker, the wealthy art-student girlfriend of Kerouac's. Jennifer Jason Leigh also stars.
John Krokidas wrote and directed the pic.
Christine Vachon, Michael Benaroya and Rose Ganguzza produce the film.
The film hits screens on Oct 17, 2013.
