Based upon author David Grann's book--It follows British explorer Col. Percy Harrison Fawcett (Cumberbatch), who was attempting to find the so-called City of Z when he and his party disappeared in 1925. Over the next 70 years, different explorers tried and failed to retrace Fawcett's steps.
The project has been in development for a while, with Brad Pitt set to star at one point . Now Brad will only produce the pic with Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Anthony Katagas.
James Gray (We Own the Night) is set to direct the pic using his own adapted script.
