Deadline reports that Patrick Wilson, Jessica Biel, Imogen Poots, and Toby Jones have all signed on to star in the film adaptation of author Patricia Highsmith's 1954 novel "The Blunderer".
The story follows the young, successful and handsome Walter Stackhouse, (Wilson), a successful architect with a lovely wife in the 1960s. Walter becomes obsessed with an unsolved murder case, which spirals out of control as he faces both a deadly killer (Jones) and an ambitious detective, all while lusting for another woman (Imogen Poots).
Susan Boyd penned the adapted script after she and her novelist/screenwriter husband William Boyd optioned the book. Andy Goddard will direct the feature.
Christine Vachon, David Hinojosa and Ted Hope are producing.
Production begins later this year.
