Production on the alien-invasion thriller "The Darkest Hour" has been shut down for two weeks due to thick smoke engulfing Moscow says the Heat Vision Blog
The production as in the midst of shooting its exterior scenes when production was put on hold late last week. More than 50 people have been killed in the raging forest fires outside of the Russian capital.
The story follows a group of kids struggling to survive in Moscow after an alien invasion.
Olivia Thirlby and Emile Hirsch star.
Chris Gorak ("Right at Your Door") directs from a script by Leslie Bohem and Jon Spaihts that he re-wrote.
Timur Bekmambetov and Tom Jacobson are producing the pic
The film is still planning to be completed on schedule.
