Dakota Fanning Has A Case Of "Brain On Fire"

Dakota Fanning is attached to star in a film adaptation of author Susannah Cahalan's novel
"Brain on Fire" says Deadline.

The story follows a 24-year-old female New York Post reporter who was six months into her first serious relationship. Out of nowhere, she became psychotic and violent which led to a month-long stay in the hospital that she doesn't remember. Before being committed, a specialist was brought in to examine her. He asked her to draw one simple sketch which helped doctors diagnose her with a new auto-immune disease which caused her body to attack her brain. Said illness is now thought to be the cause of "demonic possessions" throughout history.

No writer or director is set at the moment.

Charlize Theron, Beth Kono and A.J. Dix will produce.
