Green Rush

Bleeding Cool reports that not only is a "Green Lantern" sequel already in development, but plans are to begin shooting it before the first film even hits theaters June 17th 2011.

The site reports that studio is keen on once again using New Orleans as a stand-in for GL's hang out of Coast City in the sequel which would get a 2012 release.

On top of that, the suits will green light a third movie to be shot back to back with the second for release in 2013 should the first one be a hit.

That's pretty fast for sure--the studio must really like what they see--But in terms of ensuring a a better quality result Is that timetable a smart move?

Meantime Mark Strong (Kick-Ass, Sherlock Holmes), who plays the good turned evil Sinestro in the film tells MTV News the 2nd pic will most likely focus on that transformation:

"I've read somewhere recently they've already started writing the second one. And I think it does deal with the fall of Sinestro."
