Cooper Keeps His Distance From U.N.C.L.E.

Talks for Bradley Cooper to star in Steven Soderbergh's version of "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." have ended and he WILL NOT be doing the film says The Wrap

The original 60's series saw Robert Vaughn and David McCallum as two agents of the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E.), who fought the forces of Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity (T.H.R.U.S.H.).

Cooper would have played Napoleon in the pic and while it's not clear why he left the table--a rough schedule might be to blame. Cooper is almost done with "The Silver Linings Playbook", and then it's on to "Paradise Lost" in January with multi film options after that

Ryan Gosling, Alexander SkarsgĂ„rd, Joseph Gordon-Levitt Robert Pattinson Leonardo DiCaprio Ryan Reynolds were on the same list at one point. It's also unclear whether one or two of them would take the male leads.George Clooney was gonna play the role but left the pic as well

Personally if I were in charge Gosling and JGL would be doin' the pic...

"U.N.C.L.E." would start up in March/April

Scott Z. Burns wrote the latest script draft

David Dobkin, Jeff Kleeman and John Davis are producing the action comedy which will be set in the 60's
