The job marks the third year in a row for Gervais as master of ceremonies of the Globes, he was voted in by the HFPA after meeting with NBC network official Doug Vaughan.
Does this mean that Gervais will have the edge that prevaded last year's spectacle when his biting one-liners roasting movies and celebrities in the room generated irked many in the industry.
Gervais joked on Twitter that "Be afraid, Hollywood egos, be very afraid. It's gonna be biblical" adding that he "just told Billy Crystal he'd better not use any of my holocaust or pedophile material at The Oscars".
I think it's a great move and that the industry needs to learn to lighten up a bit...
