Barry Pepper has won roles in both Allen Hughes' "Broken City" and the action drama "Snitch" says Variety.
'City' follows an ex-cop turned private detective (Mark Wahlberg) who is hired by the mayor (Russell Crowe) to see if his wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) is cheating on him. When the mayor's wife's cheating partner ends up dead, the private eye immerses himself in the mayor's business and uncovers a real estate scandal that involves dealing himself choice city-owned properties.
Pepper will play a closeted councilman in Brian Tucker's Black Listted script.
Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Randall Emmett, George Furla and Hughes will produce the pic
'Snitch' sees Pepper as a DEA agent that helps a father (Dwayne Johnson) free his son after being wrongfully incarcerated.
Ric Roman Waugh is set to direct and will re-write Justin Haythe's screenplay The story is based on a Frontline documentary.
Nigel Sinclair, Guy East, Alex Brunner, David Fanning, Gordon Gray and Johnson are producing.
Both films are shooting in New Orleans. Pepper will then do "The Lone Ranger" film
