Hunger Games Sequel Wants Beaufoy To Write It

"Slumdog Millionaire" writer Simon Beaufoy is being mentioned to adapt the screenplay for "Catching Fire", the sequel to the March 23rd movie adaptation of The Hunger Games says Deadline.

Originally author Suzanne Collins who wrote the novel series on which the films are based along with Billy Ray and director Gary Ross were supposed to do the same for the sequel as well.However the tight post-production schedule on 'Games' means Ross won't have time to work on the "Catching Fire" script.

Beaufoy is wanted but no official discussions have begun yet.

Ross is expected to return to direct "Catching Fire" which Lionsgate has set for a November 22nd 2013 release.
