"An American Werewolf in London" director John Landis, father of Chronicle writer Max Landis, talked to The Playlist recently and gave a status update on Chronicle 2.
Dad tells the site that Junior has already written the sequel script which his father read and endorses, but the suits at Fox don't seem to like where the story goes.
“He wrote a sequel, and it’s amazing, and the studio read it and said, ‘We want ‘Chronicle’ again!’ And he said, ‘No, this is the sequel, it’s the evolution, and they said ‘No, we want that movie again!’ So it’s difficult, we’re dealing with a difficult business" said papa Landis.
Last April Max Landis said the script will focus on the aftermath of the events in the first film and Matt Garetty (Alex Russell)
Previously the younger Landis and director Josh Trank had mapped out story for a trilogy of "Chronicle" films.
