Trevorrow Chats About "Jurassic Park IV"

Safety Not Guaranteed director Colin Trevorrow talked to Schmoes Knows about the task of calling action on "Jurassic Park IV":

"Surprisingly it’s not that different [from 'Safety Not Guaranteed]. We have a very small team who we are working with right now. It's incredible to have Steven [Spielberg], who has done this for decades and has such an incredible filmic knowledge and this understanding of the language of story – in a way that for us, is very refreshing. It’s not like getting notes from a studio executive. It’s really trying to crack this and make it the best movie it can be. We definitely want to honor what came before us. We are very aware of how much a certain generation especially cares about this movie and we talk about it all the time in really good conversations. It’s not about us, it’s not about our careers, it’s – how do we make something that can stand up [against the original]?"

Originally slated for June 2014, the sequel was delayed due to further work being need on the super secret script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes)--not to mention an already too tight schedule. The sequel is now targeting a Summer 2015 release,

Steven Spielberg, who directed Jurassic Park and its sequel The Lost World: Jurassic Park, will executive produce here. Jurassic Park III was brought to the screen by Joe Johnston.

Frank Marshall will produce the dino sequel
