One of the biggest disappointments leading up to Bryan Singer's "X-Men Days of Future Past" is that James Marsden will NOT return as Cyclops.
The character met his end in 2006's "X-Men: The Last Stand" and will not brought back to life, unlike Professor X (Sir Patrick Stewart). I have always thought that Marsden got short changed throughout the first three flicks in the film series.
He was asked by Crave if he was going to return at some point in the future to the franchise, either in the recently announced 1980s set "X-Men: Apocalypse" or any of the other upcoming sequels or spin-offs:
"I've always been very proud of my role and it's out of my hands. It's nice to see Bryan go back in and turn the boat a little bit. I'm happy for those that made it back. I'd like to. I get excited watching the trailers because I'm excited for the continuance of the X-Men world. I'm a fan of X-Men and I know it'll be a kick ass movie."
The question would be though whether to recast him for 'Apocalypse', since the character would be younger, like they did in of X-Men Origins: Wolverine...
"X-Men: Days Of Future Past" hits screens May 23rd 2014.
