Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin will co-host the 82nd Annual Academy Awards airing March 7th 2010.
Martin hosted the Oscars in 2001 and 2003, however this will be Baldwin's first time. Both however have plenty of experience with live TV, as 2 of Saturday Night Live's most frequent guest hosts.
"We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars," producers Adam Shankman and Bill Mechanic said in a statement
Martin, said he is happy to host the Award with Baldwin, whom he referred to jokingly as his enemy.with, the two set to play as rivals in a movie called "It's Complicated" for Nancy Meyers which will be released on Christmas day. And Baldwin said, "I don't play the banjo, but I'm thrilled to be hosting the Oscar - it's the opportunity of a lifetime."
The ceremony has had multiple hosts before, but this is the first time, according to THR , that two people will have hosted the Oscars while standing in the same room since the very first ceremony in 1929, when Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and William C. DeMille did it.
Both of these guys can be very funny with great material hopefully they will be in top form on the night.
