How Big Of A Bite?

Just days before its theatrical debut, New Moon has already broken a record. It is is now the top-selling pre-release flick in online ticketer Fandango's ten-year history.



The film, which is currently taking in 86% of weekly ticket sales on Fandango, beating the record set by 2005's Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith.

"For many fans, it's clearly the year's most anticipated film event," said Fandango's Rick Butler.

"Ever since tickets went on sale on August 31, it's been among our top five weekly ticket-sellers.We're seeing a higher-than-usual number of tickets per transaction for this film, suggesting that moviegoers will show up en masse at theaters this weekend with their friends and family."

Thousands of Thursday night midnight showtimes for the sequel have already sold out across the country.

The film is set to easily smash both the $35.9 million opening day and $69.6 million three-day opening weekend of the original Twilight.
