Jake Gyllenhaal is negotiating to join the sci-fi thriller "Source Code" says Variety--Probably hoping that his last genre outing--The Day After Tomorrow will not be held against him
The story, written by Ben Ripley, with revisions by Billy Ray, centers on a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a deadly train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it.
Moon director Duncan Jones has made this his next film, consequently putting his Berlin-based sci-fi film , “Mute" on hold for now.
Mark Gordon (The Messenger), Philippe Rousselet and Jordan Wynn will produce. Actor Topher Grace was originally attached to star.
Nice to see Jake go back to his Donnie Darko days with an up and comer calling action on a pic...
Production on the flick is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2010.
A sci-fi version of Groundhog Day....Hmm...
