Packing Heat

Sony Pictures has scored the remake rights to French-Canadian box office hit Fathers And Guns reports Variety.

The action-comedy revolves around a father-and-son cop team who can't stand each other and are assigned to an investigation to infiltrate an outdoor adventure group/therapy camp for fathers and sons.

The film opened this past Summer and out grossed several major Hollywood productions by a large margin. In fact the film has become the highest-grossing French-language film ever released in Quebec and Canada.

Original film writer/director Émile Gaudreault and producer Denise Robert will return as producers on the US version--joined by Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall who will also produce.

"Fathers and Guns is a fantastically funny film, and we're excited to be part of the process of getting this story out to as many people as possible," says Kennedy
